About Katia Ferreira
Licensed as a physical therapist in Brazil in 1978, Katia worked in orthopedics, neurology, rheumatics, pulmonary medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics and intensive care. She also taught and coordinated the undergraduate internship programs for 15 years in the physical therapy department of well-known universities in Rio de Janeiro. A member of the Pilates Method Alliance, she has completed teacher-training programs in Fitness Pilates and Pilates in Rehabilitation. Her 12 years of Reiki training in both the U.S. and Brazil earned her the status of Reiki Master Teacher, and she has mentored many new practitioners. Katia received CranioSacral Therapy certification from the Upledger Institute, a revolutionary healthcare center recognized as a world-leader in light-touch therapy. She studied with the institute’s founder, Dr. John Upledger, and became a member of Upledger's International Association of Healthcare Practitioners. |
